“It is my pleasure to give my full support to Ainsleah Hastings in her campaign for City Council.
I have had the privilege of working alongside Ainsleah at the Nelson Community Food Centre, where she serves as a Coordinator and Chef. As a local business owner, I have also seen her commitment first-hand: as she is also the purchaser for the Food Centre, she buys products from our small business, Kootenay Tamil Kitchen / KTK Spices, because she believes in keeping our dollars local and helping small businesses grow. She supports local farmers and local business owners.
I volunteer in the kitchen at the Food Centre, where we have worked several community dinners together. In every one of those dinners, I watched Ainsleah welcome people from every background and make sure each person felt seen and heard. She does not just talk about community. She shows up for it, week after week.
What stands out most about Ainsleah is her care for people who need help the most. She works every day to make sure families and neighbours have access to good, healthy food, and she treats everyone with dignity and respect. She listens to local voices, and she understands the real needs of our community because she lives and works right in the middle of it.
Ainsleah is exactly the kind of person we need on City Council: local, hardworking, caring, and a true supporter of small businesses and the people of our community. I am proud to endorse her, and I encourage everyone to give her your vote.”
